Mark Zuckerberg’s becoming a billionaire at the young age of 23 is old news now that Kylie Jenner has taken away that crown from the Facebook founder by becoming the youngest billionaire ever.
Almost all of her wealth has come from her wholly-owned cosmetics brand called Kylie Cosmetics, and the success of her brand is directly proportional to her increasing fame. But her fame has also allowed her to develop another very lucrative income stream.
More and more people are entering the realm of social media with each passing day, which means that the number of followers A-list celebrities like Jenner have will only increase.
Kylie has all the components of becoming a famous Instagram personality, such as rich family background, a successful cosmetics brand, a regularly updated Instagram page, and a successful career in modeling, and hence all the right to command so much money.
A Million Dollar Post
Kylie Jenner currently has around 128 million followers on the social networking platform Instagram and considering this very impressive following she enjoys, advertisers are willing to pay the young billionaire almost $1 million just to sponsor one post.
She is not the only one making so much money through Instagram. According to Hopper HQ, a company that provides a scheduling tool for Instagram and which has analyzed these payments some of the most famous Instagram personalities are receiving per post, Kylie is followed by Selena Gomez in this respect as a single sponsored post on her account is worth $800K.
Of course, these celebrities are not very fond of placing sponsored posts on their pages, and so any sponsorship proposal which may come their way has to pay a lot of money as compensation.
Which Brands Is Jenner Promoting?
As far as Jenner is concerned, she has posted sponsored content for beauty brands that complement the product range of her own cosmetics brand, like Sugar Bear Hair.
This has attracted more criticism than praise, but some marketers may argue that both kinds of feedback are good for the business being sponsored, as the more a brand is being discussed, the more it is known and hence the brand recognition of the business being sponsored increases.
She also sponsored a tea brand which promised detoxing effects and also a reduction in body fat, but this too created a lot of controversies. This shows that perhaps fans are not too appreciative when A-list celebrities like Jenner promote another brand on social media, as they feel exposed to an advertisement when they are expecting to see a personal story.
What about the Other Kardashians
Her entire family is among America’s favorite, and this Hopper HQ report has reaffirmed that fact by reporting that her siblings Kim, Kendall, and Khloe are raking in an impressive $720K, $500K, and $480K for every sponsored post they make.
Considering the fact that the entire Kardashian-Jenner family has become extremely famous thanks to their reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians, the fact that they are commanding so much money per post should not come as a surprise to anyone.
